Biemme

Biemme is a cycling brand that took a ten year escapade into football and left people missing it. Founded in 1978 by Maurizio Bertinato in Brogliano, in the province of Vicenza, it built its reputation in technical cycling wear, where it pioneered solutions like the fabric chamois as early as 1984, and where it dresses champions to this day. But in the 1990s, the decade when Serie A was the centre of the world, Biemme took the pitch: it dressed Cagliari, Chievo and above all hometown Vicenza, including Francesco Guidolin's team that won the 1996/97 Coppa Italia against Napoli, the greatest title in the club's history. It also made shirts across provincial Italy, from Serie A to Sardinia's Eccellenza, always with the Veneto textile taste for detail, jacquards, monograms and panelling that today make these pieces collector's relics. With the turn of the millennium it returned full time to cycling, under the motto Essence of Cycling. Football was a passing affair; the shirts it left behind are the ones that never go out of style.
