Bohemians Praha

Born in 1905 as AFK Vršovice, the club earned its name, nickname and crest through one adventure: a 1927 tour of Australia undertaken as Bohemians, from which the players returned with two live kangaroos, donated to Prague Zoo. They have been the Klokani, the Kangaroos, ever since, with the marsupial on their green and white badge. Home is the cosy Ďolíček, the "little pit" in Vršovice, host to one of Europe's most genuine terrace cultures: when the club went bankrupt in 2005, it was the fans who rescued it with street collections. The trophy cabinet holds the 1982-83 Czechoslovak title and a UEFA Cup semi final that same year, with the eternal Antonín Panenka, inventor of the chipped penalty, as the club's greatest son. Prague's third club in the hierarchy, first in many hearts.
