About the club

Founded in 1913, Maccabi Haifa took seven decades to win its first title, but once it started it never stopped: it is now the dominant club of modern Israeli football, with more than a dozen championships, and was the country's first to reach the Champions League group stage, in 2002/03, beating Manchester United along the way. Two decades later it repeated the feat by toppling Juventus. Green and white from the start, the club from the port city beneath Mount Carmel is also a symbol of coexistence, historically a pioneer in integrating Arab Israeli players who became idols of the fanbase. It played for decades at the mythical, cramped Kiryat Eliezer before moving in 2014 to the modern Sammy Ofer Stadium. The Greens boast one of the most fervent ultra scenes in the eastern Mediterranean.
