About the club
In the middle of northern Mexico’s desert, in the Comarca Lagunera, one of the country’s most beloved clubs was born in 1983: Santos Laguna, founded as a social security institute team and transformed into the pride of Torreón. The Guerreros wear green and white and play at the Estadio Corona, opened in 2009 and regarded as one of Mexico’s most modern grounds. The trophy count impresses for such a young club: six Mexican league titles between 1996 and 2018, almost always won the house way, with attacking football and a cauldron of fans that turns the Laguna heat into a weapon. It is also a laboratory club, among the first in Mexico with modern professional management under the Orlegi group. In the desert, the saints play in hoops.
