The New Saints 2019/20 Home Shirt

The shirt of the year the machine stopped. After eight consecutive Cymru Premier titles, TNS saw the 2019/20 season halted by the pandemic and the championship handed to Connah's Quay Nomads on points per game, breaking one of Europe's longest hegemonies. Legea, which dressed the Saints for seventeen years, signed this design of green raglan sleeves and hoops starting below the chest for that season, leaving clean space for the dragon and lion crest. The best detail hides on the back: a red Welsh dragon embroidered at the neck, a statement of identity from a club that plays on English soil but prays for the Welsh championship. Beside its older polo collared sister from the imperial years, this one tells the other half of the story: even dynasties breathe. TNS would be champions again in 2021/22, as if nothing had happened.
